Chivas posted a video, the internet stopped — and Real Madrid didn't even make the engagement podium.

What the data said

  • 01

The algorithm's king this week doesn't play in the Champions League. While Real Madrid was racking up millions of likes and dominating every reach ranking, Chivas showed up quietly on TikTok and did what the giants couldn't: 43.8% engagement — the highest of the entire week, across any club, on any platform.

  • 02

Al-Nassr launched a Hollywood-worthy announcement for their new signing — and reaped what they sowed. The cinematic production earned 43 million views on Reels, the most-watched post of the week. But efficiency didn't match the spectacle: RB Leipzig, without a red carpet or superstar, reached 9.3% ER on a simple photo — more than double Al-Nassr's ER in the same format.

  • 03

Cruzeiro became dominant — and it's not making headlines. With Sinisterra heading into surgery and the club navigating uncertainty, the blue-and-white fanbase clung to social media: Cruzeiro led photo ER on three different days of the week, broke into the top-5 on Reels, and still finished Sunday as nº 1 on TikTok as well. When the news is bad, engagement screams.

  • 04

Vasco in the conversation among engagement's elite. No Libertadores, no blockbuster signing, no obvious viral moment — Vasco appeared twice among the week's most efficient posts, with 4.9% on photos and 4.3% on Reels. In a week where Messi, Mbappé, and CR7 dominated the headlines, the club that truly connected with its fanbase was the Rio side.

The contrast

Real Madrid had 56 appearances in the week's top-10. Chivas had 27. But when it comes to measuring who actually moved the needle on connection, it was the Mexican club that broke the week's absolute record, with 43.8% ER on TikTok. Reach is what the big clubs buy. Engagement is what fanbases deliver for free.

What to watch

RB Leipzig appeared twice in the IG efficiency top without a single viral headline — a sign of a highly connected fanbase that could explode when the European season resumes. A club to watch.
